ABOUT WILLIAM DUFRIS

William Dufris hails from Houlton, Maine. During high school, he discovered a passion for mimicry and vocal characterization, thanks in no small measure to the skills of Mel Blanc, Paul Frees and Jonathan Winters. After graduation, he attended USM in Portland-Gorham, Maine.

The London Years

He relocated to London, UK in 1986, where he resided for 13 years. It was there he found an outlet for his career choice. Voice work afforded him many opportunities - Language Tapes, Film/Cartoon Dubbing, Commercials, Audiobooks and BBC Radio Plays, where he had the privilege of sharing the microphone with Kathleen Turner, Sharon Gless, Stockard Channing and Helena Bonham-Carter.

Producer & Director

These experiences led him to co-found two audio production companies - The Story Circle, Ltd ( www.thestorycircle.com ) and Mind's Eye Productions. He has also acted on stage and television here in the US, as well as in the UK and Europe. William is best known as the original North American voice of the cartoon character Bob (and Farmer Pickles/Mr. Beasley/Mr. Sabatini) in Nickelodeon Jr's popular children's show, BOB THE BUILDER.

National Recognition

William has been nominated six times as a finalist for the APA's prestigious Audie Awards, as well as having garnered 18 Golden Earphones Awards through AudioFile Magazine. He was also honored by AudioFile as being one of "The Best Voices At The End Of The Century".
